Clear30 accepted into the Headstream Innovation accelerator
The accelerator, a program by SecondMuse supported by Pivotal Ventures, pairs each company with young people to test what it is building and give feedback directly. Almost everything Clear30 builds is for Gen Z, so that is exactly what we came for.

Engaging Young Adults in Cannabis Interventions: Data, Design, and Novel Engagement Strategies

We went to Colorado to show the program and spent three days listening instead. Cannabis came up in almost every conversation, and multiple schools told us it is their top priority for the coming year.

Fred Muench for MusiCares, on the gap between feeling more creative and being more creative, why today’s potency breaks every comparison to the 1970s, and what the research actually says about cannabis and mental health. Clear30 also granted scholarships to people affected by the California wildfires.

What 4,415 cannabis self-assessments reveal about young adults trying to cut back
Clear30 has built one of the largest datasets in existence on people reducing their cannabis use without entering treatment. The first paper from it, led by the Recovery Research Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, is peer-reviewed and published. Eight in ten had already tried a break that did not hold, and most did not want to quit.

Clear30 completes NIH Phase I: a 30-day cannabis break built for people under 21
A competitive SBIR grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse funded the design, build and pilot of a version of Clear30 for people under 21, an age group with almost no mobile cannabis support of any kind. Written with young people rather than for them.

Clear30 presents at the University of Michigan d3center working session on social just-in-time adaptive interventions
Convened with Susan Murphy’s lab at Harvard, the session brought together the researchers behind adaptive digital interventions to work on ADAPTS-HCT and on how a tested intervention actually reaches the public.

Clear30 at The White House on innovation in substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery
Fred Muench joined a seven-person panel of scientists and entrepreneurs at The White House, alongside Clear30 board member Marcia Lee Taylor, on digital therapeutics, AI, and neuromodulation, including how to reach the 90%+ of daily cannabis users who want solutions but never enter traditional care, and the need for greater investment and reimbursement for these tools.

Detroit’s Office of Cannabis Affairs brings Clear30 to city residents
The city office that regulates Detroit’s legal cannabis market gave residents free access to Clear30, distributed through its own channels. The office later signed a letter of support for Clear30’s NIH grant application.
